This page contains photos and information regarding finished instruments that are available for sale. Currently, I am busy fabricating prototypes that will be shown at the Montreal Guitar Show 2010 that takes place July 1-3. These guitars will be available at the show and afterwards. To date, I expect to have a Sitka/mahogany NL-1 and an Alpine/Brazlian Concert at the show ... and potentially a couple of new models as well.
In any event, there are always a couple of new instruments on my bench in various stages of completion ... and always a few new models in my head, ready to take shape in the shop. Don't hesitate to contact me with your questions or to discuss your dream guitar!
Available per August 2011 SOLD
This is the instrument that I made to display at the 2011 Montreal Guitar Show ... and was really pleased at the reaction it got from the players who attended! It is a bit of a hybrid model that was suggested by a customer of mine ... the Remuda body but with the overall aesthetic of the Concert model, i.e. the modern assymetric peghead design, frequency compensated bridge, and de Jonge style spalted maple rosette.
This instrument is made more unique by the selection of woods, namely a gorgeous Master Grade Redwood top with an absolutely stunning set of Madagascar rosewood. I was very very pleased with the overall response of this instrument, especially in regards to the dynamic range. The guitar reacted very well to a light right hand attack (which I was expecting) but had an exceptionally high ceiling when it came to aggressive playing ... always a bonus when it comes to cedar or redwood topped instruments!
I've just completed the custom Concert Model in the photo below, which features a European Alpine spruce top and a stunning set of Brazilian rosewood with some flame figure.
The back on this instrument had one of the most lively tap tones I have ever experienced ... this, combined with an absolutely stunning example of Italian spruce, combined to create the precise sound that I look for in this model ... a well definied attack transient, rock solid note fundamental, a complex set of partials, with a powerful and wide dynamic range.
It's been a long time since I've inlayed my stylized "Wren" in the 5th fret, but it was like riding a bicycle ... it all comes back in a flash! This particular inlay features mother-of-pearl, abalone shell, brass, copper and turquoise.
